The Beginners Guide to Eternal Child Visualization
The Eternal Child has a deep inner trust in itself.
Getting in touch with your eternal child holds the gift of unapologetically thinking, speaking and acting as your true self. The essence of all our unique true selves is love yet so many of us have split our personalities to fit into someone else’s idea of what being human is. Maybe you want to get that vibrancy - that true self - back. Maybe you want to feel complete, whole and connected to the world again. Or maybe you have a creative project brewing in the back of your mind but can’t seem to activate it. Whatever it is, the way you talk to yourself makes all the difference. Let’s connect with the essence of who we are—Our Eternal Child: a symbol of innocence, curiosity, joy, and boundless creativity.
Shift your focus to your breath, feeling it fill your chest and expand your belly. Notice the sensation as you inhale and exhale, allowing a sense of calm to flow through your body, releasing any tension you may be holding.
Imagine your childhood home, visualizing it as vividly as possible or recalling its essence. If you moved 9 times in 10 years like me, choose the first one that comes to mind. What was it like to be near that home? Picture your younger self on the front step, alongside the adult you are now. Take their hand and step inside, exploring each room and recalling the feelings you experienced there.
As you wander through the house, observe if there are others present. What are they doing, and how do they behave? Hold onto your younger self’s hand as you exit the house embracing them once outside. Remind yourself that you are safe, seen, accepted, and loved.
Now, envision your current life and the future you are shaping. Slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment, feeling the chair beneath you, your feet on the ground, or your connection to the earth.
Return your focus to your breath, sensing it fill your chest and belly once more. Feel your mind settling into the present moment, noticing the sounds around you and the temperature of the air. When you’re ready, gently open your eyes. How do you feel?
